With their latest release, Brooklyn based Rubblebucket take on the indie classic “Waiting Room” by Fugazi. The changes made are stark; gone is the iconic bassline replaced by snaky guitars and accent horns. Ian Macaye’s iconic vocals replaced by Kalmia Traver’s Karen O-esque performance. Yet with all the changes, the track is not unrecognizable. While an impossible task to improve on the original, Rubblebucket certainly make a fun and listenable cover.
