Atlanta-based multi-instrumentalist, Stephen Chopek just released his new single, “Come Back Soon.” The song sounds like American Football‘s debut album but distorted. All the complex riffage of late-90s/early-00s Midwest emo is present but run through a layer of distortion. Chopek’s vocals even veer into Mike Kinsella range with its emotive drawn out syllables. Although it is not the genre you generally expect from Chopek, it is a surprisingly good emo revival sound.
