When sites like Napster and Pirate Bay got taken down, the face of the take down is often a multi-million dollar corporation so it often looks like the big guys bullying the small guys. The people who are actually hurt by pirating and streaming are the smaller musicians like This Frontier Needs Heroes–hard-working, touring bands that rely on patrons at concerts to fuel their very existence. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere This Frontier Needs Heroes’ track “Free Market Music” which is about exactly that. Lines like “technology is great but its not always good” seem simplistic but succinctly cut to the root of the issue. We live in a world of “free market music/better not abuse it.”
