Premiere: Michael Blum “Save Me”

Los Angeles-based, Michael Blum is best known for his work as a jazz guitarist but he recently chose to pursue a career as a pop vocalist and songwriter. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere his new single “Save Me.”

With a hand-clapped beat and thumping bass, the song is a perfect backdrop for Blum’s silky R&B voice. But the seemingly fun song was actually written in the wake of a crippling anxiety attack. Blum’s lyrics cover heavy topics such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and even fleeting suicidal ideations. It’s rare that a track can cover such heavy topics while still being so danceable.
