Philadelphia singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Awesome Possum (nee Ryan Downs) recently released his new single, “Two Minds.” The song mixes elements of space age bachelor pad music with R&B and dub. It begins with a Farfisa organ line that sounds straight out of Doors‘ song accompanied by dub bass and drums. Downs doesn’t have a typical R&B voice; it reminds me of Conor Oberst but works well to give the song a little indie rock tilt.
