During bizarre, brief interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Birdman insisted the hosts “put some respek on my name.” Since that time, Birdman has taken the meme worthy moment and parlayed it into a clothing line and a new single. “Respek” is the latest official release from his forthcoming fifth full-length solo effort and first album in seven years, Ms. Gladys. The track is perhaps as ridiculous as the meme that sprang it. In nearly three and half minutes, Birdman manages to say not much of anything as exemplified in this rousing stanza “Came in and we winnin’/Left out and we did it/Let ’em know that we with it/They all said that we did it.”
