Morrissey has turned out to be such a chode that it is easy to forget that he at one time made great work. blondfire revives one of the Smiths‘ most memorable songs, “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now,” with a breezy bossa nova cover. While the format erases all that signature Johnny Marr guitar work, it does allow Morrissey’s best lyrics “I was looking for a job, and then I found a job/ and heaven knows I’m miserable now” to really stand out.
