Since 2017’s release of Tremendous Sea of Love, Passion Pit has largely been silent save for a one-off collaborative single with Galantis in 2019. Five years later, it is nice to see them return even if it is just remixing Casper Caan‘s “Hearts Are Opening Up.” The original had a video game feel with vintage electronics and an uptempo beat. Passion Pit chill out the track a little bit; taking down the bpm and adding reverb to the vocals, they give the track a sense of melancholy that the original lacked.
