Atlanta stalwart, Clay Harper is preparing to release his new album, Dirt Yard Street on October 2nd. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s titular track.
Clay Harper is known in Atlanta both for his musical prowess as well as one of the cities well loved restauranteurs. While he founded such restaurant chains as Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda Latina, he first became known to the city as the frontman of The Coolies.
For those familiar with the Coolies from the 80s/90s, “Dirt Yard Street” holds little similarities. The track finds Harper finger-plucking an acoustic guitar with little other musical accompaniment. His earnest voice drives the song to an emotional crescendo repeating “I believe this is home.”
