Premiere: ellen ive ove “LA Summer”

Los Angeles-based producer, ellen ive ove is preparing to release their new single, “LA Summer.” Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the track.

“I think LA Summer is the product of an almost ethereal nostalgia tied to the 1980/90’s worship music my parents were bumpin when I was little guy,” says ellen. Beginning with distorting synth brass over a hand-clapped beat, the track really picks up when it adds the un-harmonized choral/crowd vocals which are reminiscent of Passion Pit over 70s lite rock piano. “I was laughing when I recorded the keys” ellen recounts. “The Pop Piano preset, the chords, the melody, they were all so deeply tied to the black, white, purple and turquoise triangles of my earliest memories. It’s like I was translating my Mom’s turtle shell hair clip and sharp-shouldered suit jacket directly into music.”

Those turtle shell hair clip and sharp-shouldered suit jacket translate into fun, poppy music that will have you dreaming of warmer days ahead.
