Baltimore trio Free Friends teams up with Montreal’s SUCKERPUNCH! for their new single, “Checkpoint.” You don’t often see two bands team up for one single but both dabble in the early 00s pop punk/emo crossover sound. The result is a “you take one verse and we’ll take one verse” approach that works surprisingly well. I’m not sure six piece pop punk bands will catch on but in this case, it makes for a fun, catchy song.
