On September 29th, San Francisco’s Frightwig are releasing a new record called We Need To Talk… via Label 51. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to host an exclusive first listen of the record.
Formed in 1982, Frightwig has gone through a plethora of band members yet has only released two albums before now. On their third album, We Need To Talk… the women (and man) of Frightwig have not mellowed any. They are still as fiercely leftist as ever playing their melodic brand of punk.
Song topics range from exalting bike riders to protesting the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade to harping on wealth inequity. All the ills of modern life are laid out and railed against in catchy form.
