New York based songwriter, Glenarvon just released his new single, “Blackbird Leys.” On Soundcloud, a platform where artists tend to use many hashtags on their songs to drum up interest, “Blackbird Leys” is only tagged with #beatles. That gives you a good sense of the song. Based around jaunty piano and steady drums, Glenarvon says “I just spent a year living in Oxford, England. While on the bus to Blackbird Leys, I overheard a man say, ‘it’s nice to be nice.’ He smelled like booze and cigarettes, which reminded me of a childhood friend whose life went to shit. I built a narrative around this memory and experience.”
