Los Angeles artist, Karina Nistal just released her new single, “American Dream (Ska Riot!).” Mixing elements of first-wave ska and dub, the track is reminiscent of bands like Hepcat or The Slackers. Lyrically, the song is much more sociopolitical. Nistal describes the track as “about these difficult times of Covid. There’s been so much division, isolation, politics, and hardships. We’re faced with so many challenges, we must save our planet so we can save each other and ourselves.” A hopefully message to be delivered over a warm walking bass line and shuffling guitar.
