On October 1st, Brooklyn-based producer maticulous will release his new album, no caps. The latest single from the album is “Home Goin'” which features Detroit rapper, Guilty Simpson. Over the bouncy organ-filled beat, Guilty Simpson weaves a tale of a neighborhood funeral service. There is something beautiful about the lyrics where Simpson talks about seeing the people at the funeral and being surprised at how far reaching the deceases impact was felt. While some people don’t have the best things to say about him, Simpson resolves to not listen to the rumors because he never experienced them and instead pay homage because “he represent that block of mine.”
