On February 17th, MD McNally will be releasing his new EP, Crimes. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s lead single and titular track.
Wisconsin-based singer/songwriter, MD McNally explains “I wanted to write ‘Crimes’ for as long as I can remember. It pulls together my earliest attempts at expressing myself through music with my ability now to actually articulate those feelings in a song that I look forward to sharing.”
The song mixes rock and folk elements with McNally’s confessional lyrics sung in his rustic voice. Layers of acoustic guitars and percussion create a full sound and a great guitar solo buoys the middle section of the song. It feels like the sort of singer/songwriter fare meant for people who hate singer/songwriters. It is acoustic but not sparse. It is emotional while still being catchy.
