Toronto-based, Monowhales just released their first single of 2021, “Out With The Old.” While many Americans said “out with the old, in with the new” yesterday, Monowhales say it in their new single for a different reason. Over chugging bass and noisy guitars, lead singer Sally Shaar sings about “how a sweet innocent thing we like to call love grows into a perverse cesspool of exploitation.” She called the lyrics “really cathartic” and “like I’m spitting out some personal truths and getting them off my chest.”
