Nomadic Odyssey is comprised of California rapper, Agni the Bum and UK rapper, Russ Hillier who met on Reddit. Their latest single, “Magnifico” mixes complex drum programming, dissonant keys, and movie clips to create dark pathos. The lyrics reflect the beat’s grimy undertones. Agni takes some poetic license rhyming “shooter like Malvo” with “hooters bouncin so wild though” in the first verse while Hillier runs circles around the beat with complex in-rhyming in the second verse. It is interesting to hear the two rappers from two different continents take on the beat. Both are clearly great rappers but both have slightly different approaches. Bless Reddit for bringing these two together.
