Premiere: The Noted “Pure Insanity”

Portland, OR’s The Noted are preparing to release their new record Lost & Found on July 24th. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the lead single, “Pure Insanity.”

The band mixes acoustic and electric instruments to create a indie folk pop track that sounds like it could’ve been released by Barsuk Records in the early-00s. In “Pure Insanity,” you can hear shades of the Long Winters and post-“Popular” Nada Surf.

Accompanying the song is a quirky animated video. The band notes “due to physical isolation guidelines in the year 2020 digital actors are portraying the dancing roles normally performed by Jeff, Mike, John, Angela and Daniel.” Performing a myriad of dances, it is interesting to watch the video and try to identify the moves. I could point out some basics like the cabbage patch, the Macarana, and YMCA but someone with a better choreography pedigree could probably get much more.
