Australia’s The Owen Guns released their new album, Dawn of the Braindead late last month. The single “Arson About” shows the band in full force. About the charismatic Christian megachurch, Hillsong in Australia, the song condones burning it down saying “founded by the son of a dirty pedophile/Brian knew the truth and be hid his father’s crimes/Frank walked the street when he should be doing time.” That is really just the beginning of their grudges against the church. While the socio-political message is enough to get my interest, the chorus with gang vocals and “whoa-oh-oh”s is catchy enough to keep it.
