With Spin magazine naming alt-R&B the trend of the year, it seems like the genre will only get trendier. So it should not be a surprise that Ra Ra Riot’s new single, “When I Dream” sounds pretty alt-R&B-ish. The track’s finger snapping beat and muted instruments set the backdrop for the soulful vocals which includes some nice falsetto.
