Vermont-based producer, Rico James released his album, Language of Spirits back in June. The album’s latest single is “When I Spit.” Featuring heavy drums and synth choir vocals, the instrumental serve as a backdrop for rapper, Rhinoceros Funk‘s booming vocals. Cocky and brash, Funk’s flow sounds like Immortal Technique rapping Action Bronson‘s lyrics.

As flow is defined by rhythmic interactions with a beat, it’s interesting to imagine the rhinoceros embodying two completely different dudes in a song. This is poor assessment, dependent on the traditional cultural methods of stratification within one’s rudimentary knowledge of the craft.
