The Stick Figures “September”

Active from 1979 through 1981, The Stick Figures managed to release only one EP during their short time together. Newly minted Pittsburgh label, Floating Mill Records, has just re-released that EP with six previously unreleased songs, two live tracks, and a reimagining of the experimental “Ellis Otivator Dub.” The latest single from the album is the previous unreleased, “September.” The song shows a band with catchy pop songwriting while incorporating the jangle of bands like R.E.M. and the post-punk mystique of Pylon. It is a shame they didn’t last longer but we’re all lucky Floating Mill Records have resurrected these archives.
