If you run a blog long enough, you hear the same artists being ripped off time and time again: Drake, Tame Impala, Daft Punk, etc. Its not often you receive a single so obviously inspired by Tom Waits but that’s exactly what you have in Dante Mazzetti’s new single “Ugly.” Over snaky Latin piano and upright bass, Mozzetti employs his “is he singing or is he speaking?” style into what sounds like a tin can. If “Ugly” doesn’t make you want to listen to Rain Dogs, I don’t know what will.
