Hartlepool-based singer/songwriter, James Leonard Hewitson is preparing to release his album, Only The Noise Will Save Me later this month. The latest single is the album’s titular track. About struggles with mental health, Hewitson explains: “It was originally written in a minor key, but I decided to rejig the harmony after listening to an album by Insecure Men, as they were writing about some sad stuff but in a major key and I just thought ‘yeah, why not?'” The choice proves to be a good one. Filled with horns, synths, and more, the track is reminiscent of Los Campesinos in its ability to juxtapose melancholic lyrics with bright indie pop.
