Compton-based rapper, Kalay is preparing to release his Solar Plexus EP in early 2020. The EP’s lead single is “Social Media,” a song that discusses reality versus the versions of ourselves we project online. Over a laid back beat produced by Skimmmilk, Kalay’s flow reminds me of East coast rappers like Talib Kweli or Black Thought more than Kendrick, Dre, or others you would associate with Compton.
