Topaz is the solo project of the frontman of Austin, TX’s Golden Dawn Arkestra. His debut single, “Amsterdam” is a technicolor whirlwind mixture of psychedelic pop, robot rock, and new wave. You can hear elements of Daft Punk, The Human League and Black Moth Super Rainbow in the heavily computerized vocals, 80s synth sounds, and disco guitars. It is a sound that is familiar yet futuristic, fun and danceable.
