On September 14th, Palamara will release his new album, A Voice In The Wilderness. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s titular track. Beginning with just an acoustic guitar and Palamara’s austere voice, the track fills out with xylophone, drums, and backing female vocals. It reminds me of Lambchop or the Magnetic Fields with a country twang. Lyrically, the song is melancholic with Palamara saying “each verse represents a different experience in time, but they all share a feeling of dissatisfaction and a desire for something more.” But “A Voice In The Wilderness” really can’t give the listener anything more, the gorgeous arrangement and Palamara’s emotive voice make for a captivating song.
