Brooklyn trio, Pamphlets are preparing to release their new album in May. The second single from the album is “Games.” You can hear shades of New York City luminaries like Interpol in the song’s strong bassline and heavily reverbed guitars but lead singer, Jeremy Marquez’s distorted vocals mix the croon of Julian Casablancas with the talky nonchalance of Parquet Courts‘ Andrew Savage. It feels like a real study in New York City’s indie history and just shows Pamphlets aren’t here to play any games.
