Amelia Airhorn is a sort of superground consisting of production duo, The Knocks and nu-disco producer and vocalist Skylar Spence. On the new single, “NY Is Red Hot” they show the magic their collective minds can come up with. Seemingly pulled directly from a bygone disco-era, “NY Is Red Hot” could have easily been bumping from a boombox while kids splashed in an opened fire hydrant in 1977. The track is vintage without being corny. If the rest of Amelia Airhorn’s stuff sounds like this, it could be BIG.
