Pacific Northwest songwriting duo, Christine and Chad McAllister (aka Bees in a Bottle) are preparing to release their new album, The Sun Left and Took The Moon With It on April 14th. The latest single from the album is “You Alone.”
“This track is the internal conversation of a woman who’s left her partner after watching him self-destruct constantly for years,” said the band. “She gets the news second-hand that he’s taken his life.”
With such a sullen subject, the instrumental matches the tone. With reverb-soaked piano and gentle strummed acoustic guitar, the track is reminiscent of artists like Cigarettes After Sex or Cocteau Twins. It is a beautiful and heartbreaking song.
