Premiere: Birds May Bite “Streetlight”

Seattle-based songwriter and multi instrumentalist Scott Adams aka Birds May Bite will release his new album, Just To Taste on April 28th. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere his new single “Streetlight.” Accordion-filled, the track is lilting bedroom-pop that recalls Neutral Milk Hotel or Bruce Hornsby. Lyrically, Adams’ explains “The person that gave me a ride to the party is having more fun than I am. I was hoping to suddenly be in the mood, and maybe meet some new people. But I feel like a pariah; and I don’t want to be there. It’s a cloudy Saturday night, and it’s getting late, but I’ve got plenty of energy. It’s not that far home, is it? I’ll just walk. Screw it.” Sentiments many can identify with. With his vulnerable, slightly off-key vocals and the hazy recording, “Streetlight” is a beautiful melancholic trip.
