Blueburst “Executioner’s Song”

Blueburst is the brainchild of an unlikely “new” artist, guitarist/vocalist Craig Douglas Miller. He just released his debut album, Significance at age 50. The latest single from the album is “Executioner’s Song.” The song was inspired by Norman Mailer’s book The Executioner’s Song, which is an account of the life of Gary Gilmore, the man who murdered two people and then asked to be executed by firing squad for his crimes. The song is reminiscent of 80s/90s rock/pop bands like The Smiths or Gin Blossoms. The track features Marty Willson-Piper of The Church on guitar to really solidify that early college rock sound.
