Canadian band, Burs just released their single, “Lily.” The dynamic track mixes quieter folky verses with a bombastic chorus. Lead singer, Lauren Dillen describes the song as “the angry surrendering of a failed attempt to separate intimacy and love. Specifically, the habit of a young girl to give herself away in the naïve pursuit of a casual relationship.” Although the band notes that “Lily” was one of their earliest compositions, it demonstrates great lyrical depth and interesting structure.
