Premiere: Carrie Biell “We Get Along”

Seattle singer-songwriter, Carrie Biell is preparing to release her new album, We Get Along on February 11th. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s titular track.

“We Get Along” is reminiscent of Cracker’s “Get Off This” with its folky guitar over a big rock drum beat. the addition of some wah-wahed lead guitar gives the track a little psychedelic/classic rock feel. Biell admits “I wanted to write something fun and retro sounding. I was inspired by T-Rex and listening to a lot of 70’s rock at the time.” The lyrics mirror the instrumental’s feel. Biell said “this song is an upbeat, cheeky way of saying, the relationship is strained, but we get along ok, so don’t give up on it.”

Even though its been over 20 years since her debut album, Symphony of Sirens, Biell shows she still has a lot to give.
