Western MA’s Cloudbelly recently released their album, i know i know i know. The latest single from the album is “Fascinated.” For a band that is self-described “chamber-pop indie folk,” the track doesn’t sound like Belle and Sebastian or Fleet Foxes. Beginning with a blazing guitar solo, the track settles down into strummed acoustic guitar with Corey Laitman’s vocals. Big drums and plenty of ambience signal the arrival of the chorus before the blazing electric guitar returns for the post-chorus bridge. It ends up sounding like if Maggie Rogers fronted the Arcade Fire featuring Eric Johnson on guitar.
