On July 2nd, horn player Curt Ramm will release his new album, Rogue Island. The album was written and recording during quarantine with the main players being Curt Ramm on trumpet, valve trombone, flugabone and Ray Gennari on bass, guitar, percussion, synth, piano, and organ. The duo were joined by a long list of guests like Aston Barret Jr. of the Wailers, Charles Giordano of the E Street Band, Bill Holloman of Chic, and others. The latest single from the album is “Surfer’s End.” The entirely instrumental track has a traditional ska vibe reminiscent of artists like the Skatalites or more modern bands like Hepcat or the Slackers.
