Connecticut’s Dagwood is preparing to release their new EP, Pollyanna Visions on July 30th. The first single from the EP is the ultra-catchy, “Trying To Be Kind.” The relatable lyrics about trying to smile through a bad situation are met with buzzing lead guitar that doubles the vocal melody. The result is a song whose tune is reminiscent of 50s bubblegum pop but played through a modern guitar-rock lens.
