Debris Discs is the solo project of former Coves & Caves and My Side of the Mountain frontman/songwriter, James Eary. His debut single, “Animals” mixes analogue synth and drum machine with a smattering of guitar and a sprinkling of children’s toys found lying around the house. Eary said “the track is based on the real-life experience of working in the murky world of financial services, from someone very close to my heart. It shows that if things get too much, there’s always another path to choose for a better, more soul-nourishing life – one that might not always be the most obvious.” In this case, Eary is suggesting “it’s time to work with animals” in song’s earworm chorus.
