Fourteen years after the release of one of the genre’s defining albums, Boy in da Corner, grime is enjoying time in the spotlight in the US thanks to acts like Skepta and Stormzy. Lost in this resurgence is Dizzee Rascal. Today Rascal announced his new album Raskit along with releasing a new single “Space.” With parrying words to his haters, Rascal’s demeanor does not match the ferocity of his lyrics. His voice stays cool and his slow seems very calculated. While “Space” may not have the same level of hype as Skepta’s “Shutdown,” it is nice to see Dizzee return to early 2000s form.
