Portland, OR’s DoublePlusGood recently released their heartbreaking new single, “Honest Man.” In the band’s own words, the song “portrays a gay man trying to salvage a loveless relationship with a woman. It optimistically suggests that having the veneer of an ‘acceptable’ romance will eliminate self loathing.” The sad tale gets laid out in singer, Erik Carlson’s signature croon over a lush bed of reverbed guitars. It recalls classic acts like Roy Orbison or Roxy Music.
