England-born, Los Angeles-based singer, Ella M. is preparing to release her new EP, Yellow Blazer later this year. The latest single from the album is “Myself.” Mixing elements of jazz, downtempo, and electro-pop, Ella flexes her smooth, melancholic vocals over the subdued beat. “After moving to LA I started spending a lot of time either in the studio or writing in my house,” says Ella. “It took me a long time to get used to being alone most of the time. I knew from a young age that I was very reliant on other people but moving to a new city to work brought light to the fact that I use other people’s company to put a bandaid over my perpetual loneliness. This song is me expressing my need for love and intimacy as a way to distract myself from my deep rooted feelings/problems.”
