Eminem “Berzerk”

eminem-berzerkA year after Adam Yauch’s passing, Eminem seems to be paying homage by recreating the Beastie Boys‘ early work on his new single “Berserk.” Teaming up with Rick Rubin who produced the Beastie’s Licensed to Ill, the track features an 80s hip hop with its distorted guitars and old skool drums. “Berzerk”‘s liberal use of samples recalls the days of Paul’s Boutique. While the track will mostly gain notoriety for Eminem calling Khloe the ugly Kardashian and it marking the return of Slim Shady, the song has a lot more to offer in the way of production and should be commended for that.
