The Forever Now featuring Trine Lyngvig “Lover’s City”

It’s hard to pinpoint what genre The Forever Now‘s new single “Lover’s City” is exactly. Beginning with swelling strings, there is an immediate cinematic element to the track. When the vocals enter so does a plucked harp and swirling piano arpeggios in the background. There is no real percussion in the song until nearly the three minute mark and even at that point, it’s not the traditional drums. With the layers of vocals and the non-traditional instruments you might call “Lover’s City” baroque pop. Or maybe chamber pop? Or cinematic pop? Whatever genre it is, it is a beautiful and enthralling track.
