Los Angeles band, Former Faces released their single “Back Up a Minute” last November. The track sounds like an melancholic 80’s version of Real Estate with its minor key, reverbed guitar riffs. It is not a track that is obvious fodder for remixes. Yet that is what the Night Thief has done. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere his effort.
The Night Thief completely reinvents the song. With layers of synths over a bouncing bass line, the original reverbed vocals stay intact. It could be played in an 80s darkwave club and no one would bat an eye. It is a great feat of remixing.
