Los Angeles duo, Freedom Fry just released their Halloween single, “Monster.” The song features an off-kilter piano reminiscent of the Doors‘ “Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)” while Bruce Driscoll’s low Tom Waits-esque vocals gets doubled by Maria’s more normal range. While the sound of the song is a little more adult, the story in the song is quite sweet; it is about a monster who gets sad when people scream and run away from it. Who doesn’t love a misunderstood monster tale?
