Virginia rapper, G RIEL just released his new single, “Yes I Can.” Over a cut up soul sample reminiscent of Just Blaze‘s “Exhibit C” beat, G RIEL spits classic hip-hop referenced-filled lyrics. He spits “back to the Roots like ?uestlove without the drums,” referencing how the song’s beat is percussionless. That line is quickly followed by a reference to Q-Tip. With paying homage to hip hop greats, you can’t overlook the fact that “Yes I Can” is a great track in and of itself.
