Illinois-born, Washington DC-based singer, Heddy Edwards recently released her first single of 2024, “Black Tunnel.” Beginning with a lush orchestral swell and acoustic guitar, the track has a bit of a Born to Die-era Lana Del Rey meets Fleetwood Mac feel. Edwards’ voice won’t be confused with either Del Rey or Stevie Nicks though. Like Amy Winehouse or Macy Gray, Edwards’ voice lacks a clear comparison; it is a unique gift on to her that gives her music distinction. It makes “Black Tunnel” a nice jumping off point for new listeners and a welcome addition of listeners of old.
