London band, I, Doris just released their new single, “In The Ladies.” The quartet asks “ever popped to the Ladies at the pub and emerged an hour later with some new best friends, having put the world to rights, shared secrets, swapped makeup toptips, and resolved to definitely keep in touch?” I, personally, have not and I don’t think men’s rooms work quite the same, but I am given to understand something women’s rooms do. The band put their self-described “mummycore” spin on the situation mixing influences of 1960s girl groups and 80s new wave. It ends up sounding somewhere between the Pipettes and Missing Persons.
