It can be hard to cover a song as iconic as Britney Spears‘s “Toxic.” Sounds like the opening strings just can’t be recreated so the only way is to reinterpret the song. That is exactly what Brisbane’s Jaguar Jonze does. She brings out the sultriness of the lyrics by mixing elements of trip hop and desert rock. It ends up sounding like Portishead covering an Ennio Morricone score.
